40th Anniversary of the Opening of Arko Arts Theater
Commemorative Exhibition <No Theater>
As part of a planned program that proposes discussions and discourses on the path that art theaters have taken and the future they will take in celebration of their 40th anniversary, an exhibition is being held that can bring to mind the social function and role of theaters by focusing on the space itself as a theater in a situation where the performing arts genre itself is facing a global crisis due to COVID-19.
Breaking away from the theater's conventions where the positions and roles of performers and audiences are fixed around the stage, the entire theater space is transformed into a stage, and audiences can explore every nook and cranny and construct their own narratives, thereby differentiating the theater experience through audience participation exhibition planning.
By inviting citizens who do not use the art theater in the past, artists and workers in the visual arts, literature, and architecture fields to the theater, we propose a place-specific experience, thereby improving accessibility to the theater for a diverse customer base.
